Since a long time I have been interested by the various, and sometimes contradicting, stories about our shared history. In recent times, history and our cultural identity have received renewed interest for all sorts of reasons. The stories I occasionally heard sounded sometimes too ludicrous, I had to dive deeper into the subject matter myself.
Last week, my spouse Leena and I went to visit the South Western part of Finland. There I did some scouting and identified a few places to return to. Closer to home, in Hattula, I went to see recently the Holy Cross Church, an important historical monument. Yesterday I took some preliminary shots, see below, and this afternoon I go back for better shots. If the church is too crowded, I need to pick another day, though.
