Photography to me and many with me is about watching and seeing. This morning I saw the light and instantly put on my winter clothes and went outside. The light changes constantly due to clouds, the rotation of the earth and the path of the sun itself. It requires a moment of standing still and observation to see the subtle changes on days like this. But when you see the right moment you need to capture it without hesitation.
What makes this image so interesting to me? It is the weird light that seems to come from the opposite of the lake even though the sun is on my left side. It is also overcast as you can see, but there is a crack in the cloud deck which makes this all possible. Still, the sharp contours do not make sense nor does the direction makes any sense. Hence I like this.
