I write and paint about the role of consciousness in creativity and imagination. Some of these writings are about my Extra Sensory Perception experiences (ESP) and its use. On this site, I also describe processes that stimulate ESP and I talk about a few theories proposed by others. Consciousness and its relationship to Authenticity, inspiration and personality I cover as well. My ambition is to visualize the links between consciousness and simulation theories, our reality and weird stuff that happens.

Creativity, Imagination and Consciousness
The understanding of the link between creativity, imagination and consciousness is very important. A fundamental questions in modern science is about where does thought comes from. Is thought a product of chemical reactions or electromagnetic pulses? Is imagination triggered by the same processes? The majority of scientists claim that atoms are the basis for everything.

Thought, creativity and imagination exist outside of this material realm. It manifests itself in this realm as we experience this realm as real. This realm, we call this reality, is where we spend most of our time. But, when you step outside this reality you experience a different, all-embracing dimension.
There is this saying in the field of phenomenon; when you look at it, it will start to look back at you. You encounter a similar effect when you study consciousness or the simulation theory. For example, coincidences increase and unexplained real world events happen. However, it is not about the effect but rather it is about the journey. Effect-hunting and effect-parading are detriment to your development and research.
Studies and experiences
When I talk about research I mean two things. I read other people’s scientific studies and I read about other people’s experiences. The other type of research is the exploration of my own theories and testing those. The methods I use:
The artist in me
In my work as artist and researcher, I explore both realms and register the effects one has on the other. Many researchers shy away from this topic. In contemporary social science I find some reasons why this might be so. Your personality traits reveal how you likely deal with uncertainty, peer-pressure and conformity.
My Big Five Personality test result supports this thinking. There is a link between my low politeness (9%) and very high openness to experience (92%) and my ability to be creative. Low politeness means I explore controversial fields and bring back the findings. Very high openness means do not shy away from weird stuff, I am extremely curious.
I have a good combination of curiosity and the need for explanations. The inventor in me needs concreteness to work with. In Tom Campbell‘s words I am open-minded and sceptical at the same time.
For about 20 years I have worked as a service designer adviser and educator, but it was time to change focus. As a result, I got more time to spend on what truly interests me. Now I study the human creative processes, and how we get inspiration and new ideas. Above all, I like to know what makes me authentic and how authenticity relates to consciousness and creativity. Slowly these connections become clear and I like to take you on my journey of discovery.
